COVENANT PARTNERS

I attended a Board meeting at Covenant Partners and Pastor Darrell Weaver shared some statistics that might be interest to our congregation. They are as follows:

A report of activity from Covenant Partners for 2021 included activities that our church, in part, contributed to throughout last year. As the report stated, your help and support helped give the underserved community of downtown Muncie the following:

*1,053 bags of food distributed

* 954 bags of cleaning supplies provided to those in need (YUMC supplied 300 of those bags)

* 906 hot meals for breakfasts on their community day

* 136 hot meals delivered to the community for Christmas

* 47 hot meals served at Covenant Partners Christmas Day

* 30 Christmas food baskets delivered - these came from our church

* Various fresh food items, canned food, clothing and personal care items handed out

During the last six months of 2021, financial contributions received, including those from the YUMC, allowed Covenant Partners to provide the following:

* $163 food assistance

* $885 for rental assistance

* $340 for temporary housing

* $747 for utility assistance

* $670 for community day meals (held on the 4th Wednesday of each month)

* $1,059 for Sunday meals

* $370 for miscellaneous items

* $136 for funeral assistance

* $160 for the Thanksgiving meal

I hope this information will show how much the support received from Yorktown Methodist Church has meant to this church and their worthy efforts to support this part of the Muncie community.
