Dear Susanna

Dear Susana typewriter

Dear Susanna,

Do you have any information about the collection for our foster family with Hands of Hope? They sound like a very deserving family. Are there any other needs we should be aware of?

Wondering Wendy

Dear Wendy,

We were pleased with the donation that was presented to the family to assist with the purchase of a van that would have room for all the car seats for all five children. Our donation, along with their trade-in allowed them to purchase a 2017 van at a manageable payment. The family is so grateful for the love, support, and generosity of YMC. They were overwhelmed and speechless. The look on their faces said it all. They did not ask for or expect anything. The van makes it much easier and safer to get all the kids in their seats. If you are interested in becoming more involved in this ministry contact Amy Fowler.

Dear Susanna,

I am so glad we are having Fellowship Sundays again. I love my church family, and the extra visiting time. I signed up to help host, but I am not sure which month. Where do I check to find out?Faye Fellowship

Dear Faye,That extra time is great to visit. Mary Jo Estep has graciously volunteered to be our coordinator, and she will call you a few weeks before your time to remind you. There is also a list in the secretary's office on the bulletin board above the paper cutter. There are the names on the back also, so don't forget to flip it over. If you haven't volunteered yet, please do. Contact Mary Jo or add your name to the sign up sheet in the office.

Love & Prayers,

Susanna

Dear Susanna,

I have noticed that the word united is starting to disappear from some of our markers like Facebook, newsletter, Thursday emails, etc. I never realized how many places the church name is out there. Are they going to change the signs soon, too?

Nina Names

Dear Names,

We have been surprised at all the places our name does need to be changed! We are in contact with the sign company and most of that will happen before spring. We are redirecting to the website with an easy to remember name, yorktownchurch.org. You can either type in this new name or the old one, and they will both direct you to the same place. We will have new emails set up soon also. It just takes a while! Thanks for your patience. BTW - It is a good thing we chose the name we did. We do not need to change the foundation cornerstones!

Love and Prayers,

Susanna

Dear Susanna,

I am not sure who to thank, but I appreciate my new Yorktown Methodist coffee cup. I think of the church every time I use it. I even lift up a little prayer for God's blessing and direction over our congregation and staff. Can you let the right people know?

Casey Cups

Dear Cups,

The Leadership Council and Pastor Matthew approved this idea. I am glad to hear you are pleased with it. We have a few regulars who have not picked theirs up yet. Just let Pastor Matthew know and you can pick yours up at church sometime. Sorry, but we cannot mail them.

Love & Prayers,

Susanna

"Dear Susanna" is a feature of the YUMC monthly newsletter. Susanna Wesley never preached a sermon, published a book, or founded a church, yet Susanna Wesley is known as the Mother of Methodism. The example of faith and religious reverence she set for her children John and Charles inspired them to become powerful spiritual leaders, and to launch the Methodist movement.
