“And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” (Matthew 10:42, NIV)

On July 2nd I will have the privilege of preaching at Covenant Partners Ministries. This verse is one of the verses I will be using to share the good news with them.

I want to say thank you to Yorktown Methodist Church for their support of Covenant Partners

Ministries. Our congregation is still one of their largest supporters. And, I know that support has been strong for many, many years.

My wife and I first became involved with this ministry when it was in the Main Street UMC’s

Fellowship Hall on Pershing Street in Muncie. We have tried to support it as much as we could (even when we were not in the area). Imagine my delight when we started attending this church and found out about how strong your support for Covenant Partners is.

The reason why I am preaching that Sunday, as well as June 25th, is that Covenant Partners is

going through a pastoral change. Pastor Darrel Weaver has led the ministry for two years. Pastors Colin and Heather Cress will be taking over the reigns in early July. Please pray for this transition. Changing pastoral leadership is never easy and in this ministry there are other factors that make it more difficult.

Pray for the ministry of Covenant Partners. Pray for how our congregation can continue to support this vital ministry. Pray for how we can share “a cup of cold water” to the people that are blessed by the ministry. God Bless You!
