September Communion Offering

by Ella Reff

Although our congregation is no longer officially United Methodist, we do support the charitable efforts of UMCOR, The United Methodist Committee on Relief. This agency reported that it is coordinating with the California-Pacific Conference on relief and recovery efforts for the devastated island of Maui in Hawaii. There are also ongoing efforts to assist those in need in Ukraine. In addition, $10,000 in solidarity was granted for The United Methodist Churches in Indiana to support initial relief efforts for the damage caused by 10 tornadoes and other storms that swept across Indiana in March.

The September special communion offering will support UMCOR. All funds donated to UMCOR go directly to the needs, and the United Methodist Church takes care of all related management fees. This is a very effective and efficient way to donate to those experiencing disasters.

The August special communion offering brought in $215 for Reach Yorktown.
