We hear the Christmas angels, The great glad tidings tell;
Read: Luke 2:8-14
On the night of Jesus’ birth, the angels appeared to shepherds. The purpose of this visit was to tell the shepherds of the birth of God’s Son.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. (Luke 2:11, NIV)
The shepherds were the first people outside Mary and Joseph’s family to be told of the birth of the Messiah.
After the angels left, the shepherds left their posts. They went into Bethlehem and searched for the newborn child. When the shepherds found Jesus, they worshipped him.
As we approach Christmas, what do you need to do in order to worship the newborn King?
How can you keep the real meaning of Christmas at the heart of the season?
