Prayer Corner

by Joy Grady von Kleeck

James 5:16 NLT "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

The Bible encourages us to pray for one another many times. This is just one verse of many. I am sure many of you are familiar with these verses. I have written in the past of ideas for praying for one another. One way we have participated in for many years is by having prayer partners. We start thinking about that this time of year. The forms have already started being passed out. The deadline for turning in a form is January 15. I will start matching up prayer partners the week of January 15th. I would encourage you to meet with your prayer partner during Fellowship on January 21. Being a prayer partner is very easy. Basically all you have to do is pray for them on a regular basis. It helps if you communicate with each other regularly so you can pray more specifically. Some of my former prayer partners have become my very good friends. For those of you who get the newsletter, but are home-bound, it is a great way to stay involved.

Reach the Muslim Majority in Bangladesh

by Joy Grady von Kleeck, Source: Advancing Native Missions

In the predominantly Muslim country of Bangladesh, Christians face poverty and persecution. But God's kingdom is expanding through the efforts of Bangladeshi Christian churches and ministries. Many believers have left Islam and are now sharing the Gospel with their Muslim neighbors.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

*Bangladesh is one of the most densely-populated countries in the world.

*Almost 90% of the population is Muslim.

*More than 800,000 Muslim Rohingya refugees from Myanmar live in camps in Bangladesh.

WAYS TO PRAY

1. Pray for local ministry printing and distributing Christian books, training materials, and other resources.

2. Pray for effective outreach among the Muslim Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

3. Pray for new Bible school graduates who are starting ministry work among their Muslim neighbors.

"We thank God for the new believers growing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Please pray that we may get more workers....where the people have not yet heard about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." Church Leader in Bangladesh
