Prayer Corner

by Joy Grady von Kleeck

This may seem a little early, but the next newsletter will be too late. The 73rd Annual National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 2. The theme is Lift up the World-Light up the World.

I am quoting from the Task Force information letter. "God is faithful. He has not forgotten you or America. Yes, we read and watch the news; but friends, we want to encourage you to look up. Lift your eyes and focus on where our hope comes from. Remember all the days and ways that God has answered our prayers in abundance, exceeding your dreams and shown you abundant love in the countless blessings He has brought to you, the troubles He carried you through, the lessons He taught you, the mercy, strength, and comfort He has provided through the years and tears behind you. Some may say the world is getting darker, but as long as God's people are reading and relying on the Word, praying and practicing His Word, the world is full of light that exposes and dispels the darkness. Our battle is personal and universal."

I thought this was encouraging. On May 2 we need to pray for our nation our state, our community, and our church. Of course, we should pray for all of them often, but on that day we know we are joining many Christians to pray. The Word says where two or more agree in prayer, God answers.

Join the Prayer Warrior Team

We have a small group of people who pray for our church and church members. This team is in addition to the Sunday morning prayer meetings and the email prayer requests that go to all. The group has a calendar with everyone’s names and special groups within the church listed, as well as receiving special prayer requests. Please consider joining this team. Contact Ella Reff or Ron Sloan for more information.
