2023 Christmas Basket Summary

Lance Estep offers a big thank you to the congregation for helping to make the Christmas Basket Ministry successful. Food and monetary donations were plentiful. The volunteers were very helpful taping boxes, setting up and tearing down tables, providing the trucks, and muscle power for picking

up, loading, and delivering food. A special thank you to Boy Scout Troop 69 and their parents for helping to load and deliver the boxes under the direction of their Scout Master, Todd Howell, and Activities Director, Jenny Waterman.

On delivery day the Methodist Women provided a fabulous breakfast for all participants. Before the breakfast the final perishables were loaded into the boxes, and the boxes going to Covenant Partners were loaded into their bus. After breakfast delivery began to the forty-eight recipients on our list. We had 6 deliveries we were unable to connect with after repeated attempts. By the following Monday we had found 3 additional needy families. This left us with three family baskets or six boxes of food that we delivered to the Muncie Soup Kitchen. In total, we provided 142 boxes of food and 4,332 items to needy recipients. In addition, many left over miscellaneous extra food items were given to Covenant Partners and Reach.

YMC offers a special thanks to Lance Estep, our CBC (Christmas Basket Coordinator). His organization, persistence, communication, and direction are greatly appreciated. If you would like to learn more about this role as an assistant next year, please see Lance.
