Celebration Center (May 2022)

CELEBRATION CENTER

Families like to celebrate, and our church family is no exception. We want to help you recognize the special days of new babies, retirements, new jobs, special anniversaries, graduations, etc. We need your help though. Please send pictures and information to ggernand@gmail.com for the newsletter by the 15th of the month before you would like to see it shared with our church family.

We look forward to filling this space with special celebrations!

ZACHARY SPANGLER

Zachary Spangler, son of Chad and Kim Spangler, graduates from Yorktown High School in May and plans to attend Purdue University to major in Farm Management. At YHS he was an important part of the soccer and track & field teams for all four years. Winning back to back Soccer Sectional Championships was a definite highlight. He also served as a Freshman Mentor for two years, and was in National Honor Society.Zachary has attended YUMC since he was a child. He is especially grateful to the church family for their continued support to him and Boy Scout Troop 69. One of his favorite memories is boxing and delivering Christmas food boxes to those in need.

He has earned the ranking of an Eagle Scout. His Eagle Scout Project was a canned food drive at YHS that benefited Reach Yorktown Ministry. during the spring of 2021. A competition was held between numerous groups and sports teams to see who could collect the most food items. They collected 1,620 food items and three teams/groups received cash prizes to support their program. Most of the winners turned around and donated the funds right back to Reach!

The YUMC family sends best wishes to Zachary.

CHELSEA WILMOTH

Chelsea Wilmoth, daughter of Jerry Wilmoth and the late Diana Wilmoth will graduate from Muncie Central High School this spring. Her sister is Jasmine Wilmoth. Chelsea enjoys working at McDonalds in Daleville. Post graduation plans include Ivy Tech. She named her dad as an influential person in her life because he loves and cares for her.

School has always been an important part of her life. Her favorite subject in school was English, and her English teacher, Mrs. Floyd, was her favorite. She also liked Mrs. Kimbrell, who is now retired, but taught study hall. One of her favorite school memories was a Christmas party in 5th grade where they made gingerbread houses.

Chelsea began attending YUMC with her parents and sister about seven years ago. The unexpected death of her mother in 2018, has helped to build a bond with our church family. Chelsea has special memories of hanging out and talking to people during Fellowship Sunday. She was also able to attend church camp at Camp Adventure and Epworth Forest. She has good memories of worshipping God and swimming.

Chelsea loves her pets. She has seven fish, and a new dog named Sweetie Pie, who is a female Havanese.

The YUMC family sends best wishes to Chelsea upon her graduation!
