by Linda RiegleEach month Covenant Partners Church hosts a Community Day where individuals are given breakfast, offered legal assistance, provided some medical screening and given bags of cleaning supplies and food. YUMC for several years had been providing 25 bags of cleaning supplies each month. In April 2022, Pastor Darrel Weaver asked if we could change from
cleaning bags to food bags because of the need and this past June, we began providing 10 bags of food costing approximately $150 per month.
At the August Partners board meeting, Pastor Darrel informed us that more individuals are returning to the church post COVID and the requests for food assistance are increasing. In July, Partners fell 24 bags short of the requests received.
Your donations to Covenant Partners are key to our support of their mission. Some individuals donate money toward their general expenses and some donate $5, $10, $15 or more for food bags. It is important that you identify whether your donation for Covenant Partners is for their general expenses or for our food bags. To help with this identification, please specify on the envelope what you want your donations to support as follows:For general support: “Covenant Partners”
For food bags: “CP Food Bags”
