Dear Susanna

Dear Susana typewriter

Dear Susanna,

I missed the call out for small groups on June 11th, but I think that it is something I might like to do. I will be honest, I am not sure I want to do it or even have time to do it, but I think it is one of those things that would be good for me and good for our church.

Honest Harvey

Dear Honest,

I appreciate your honesty, and you are exactly right; participation in a small group would be good for you spiritually and emotionally, and a real bonus for our church. We had a good turnout that day with about twenty people expressing an interest in learning more. New groups will be kicked off in the fall, and we are looking at daytime and evening groups. Some groups will be more focused with singles, others with couples, and some mixed groups. Some of the groups will be more Bible study oriented, other groups might focus on a spiritual theme or book. There has been some interest in a grief related group, also. The teaching team has a short survey they would like you to complete regarding times and days of the week that work for you. Please make sure to let Pastor Matthew know if this is something you might be interested in.

Love and Prayers,

Susanna

Dear Susanna,

Pickleball??? I was surprised to see that some of our folks will be getting together to play pickleball. I have never tried it before. Is there much to it? What do you need? Is it very strenuous?

Picky Patty

Dear Picky,

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the United States. It is being embraced by senior citizens as well as young adults. It is a great way to get some exercise, and is only as strenuous as you and your team mate make it. It requires a pickleball paddle, some pickleballs, and a court to play on. There are two courts at the YHS tennis courts that are lined for pickleball, and it is free to play there. Players take turns rotating in and out after games, so more people can play. We had a group meet last summer a few times, and thought we would give it a try this year. We have people who will teach you how to do play, and have a few extra racquets you could borrow. Come watch sometime and see what you think. They are currently planning on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. at the tennis courts at the intersection of Tiger Drive and River Road.

Love & Prayers,

Susanna
