Dear Susanna

Dear Susana typewriter

Dear Susanna,

What's up with having an annual meeting? Do we really need one?

Wondering Walt

Dear Wondering,

Since we are now an independent church, our by-laws require a called meeting of the church members or an Annual Meeting on a Sunday in the month of January. The Leadership Council choseSunday, January 21, 2024 for the Annual Meeting. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the worship service. We are planning to do it as part of our Fellowship Sunday activities, as well as meeting with new prayer partners. Please make plans to attend.

Dear Susanna,

Are there any guidelines on what we honor in the Celebration Center part of our newsletter?

Greg Guidelines

Dear Guidelines,

We want to celebrate what you want to celebrate! We typically try to recognize 50th anniversaries and 90th birthdays, but not everyone is able to reach those milestone. Also, we often are not aware because we do not always have the years or even anniversaries in our data base. We are happy to offer a shout-out for the birthdays and anniversaries that are special to you. We sometimes see things on Facebook that we share with the congregation, but we do not see everything. Please email Gayle at ggernand@gmail.com to let her know of anything you would like for your church family to see.

Love & Prayers,

Susanna

Dear Susanna,

I hate to complain, but the poinsettia I purchased from the church looked pretty sad when I got it. What happened?

Fran Flowers

Dear Flowers,

Well sometimes, life happens. We are sorry that some of the flowers did not fare well. Some people have a "green thumb," and others really struggle to keep their plants alive. Poinsettias in particular are tough ones. They only need a small amount of water weekly. If they get too much, they die. If they don't get enough, they die. If you know of someone with a "green thumb" please ask them to consider being a volunteer caretaker for our plants in the future. Contact Pastor Matthew.

Love & Prayers,

Susanna

"Dear Susanna" is a feature of the YMC monthly newsletter. Susanna Wesley never preached a sermon, published a book, or founded a church, yet Susanna Wesley is known as the Mother of Methodism. The example of faith and religious reverence she set for her children John and Charles inspired them to become powerful spiritual leaders, and to launch the Methodist movement.
