Hands of Hope is a go for Yorktown Methodist Church. We have reached our goal for filling the eight volunteer slots to become a Hands of Hope Caring Community to a local foster family. Among those who have indicated willingness to provide support are Jim Fowler, Amy Fowler, Ron Sloan, Ella Reff and Joy Grady (filling one spot), Michelle Miller and Russ Miller (filling one spot), Linda Martin, Steve and Gayle Gernand (filling one spot) and Kate Muhlbaier. Nancy Riegle and John Chaille have also expressed willingness to provide some level of support.
Two from the group listed above will be participating in a Zoom clinic conducted by Hands of Hope on March 2 and 3. This will then equip our church with the expertise needed to start serving and start obeying Isaiah 1: 17: "Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless."
