A young minister just out of seminary decided to take a job on the police force for a few months, thinking the experience would be useful in his work as a minister. After passing the physical, he took the oral exam, which was designed to test his mental alertness and his ability to think and act quickly and wisely in an emergency.

One of the questions asked was, "What would you do to disperse an agitated crowd?"

The minister's quick response was, "I'd take up a collection."
