O holy Child of Bethlehem, Descend to us, we pray! Cast out our sin and enter in, Be born in us to-day. We hear the Christmas angels, The great glad tidings tell; O come to us, abide with us, Our Lord Emmanuel!
Read: Jeremiah 23:1-8
This verse gives us a glimpse into what it means for Jesus to be present in our lives. It is fitting that the Christmas Carol ends with the realization that Jesus is both our Lord and Emmanuel.
When we claim that Jesus is Lord, we are declaring the fact that he is the one who has control of our lives. We are stating that our role is to be servants and follow the ways of Christ as we live our lives. It is not simply a “nice” title. It is stating that Jesus is in control.
Have you truly given Jesus control of your life?
How can you be a servant of Jesus Christ during this last week of the Advent season?
