O morning stars, together Proclaim the holy birth! And praises sing to God the King, And peace to men on earth. For Christ is born of Mary And gathered all above, While mortals sleep the Angels keep Their watch of wondering love.

Numbers 24:15-19

The theme of this verse is focused upon the heavenly things that are proclaiming the birth of Jesus. The morning star (Venus) proclaimed the birth. The Christmas Star led the Magi to the home of Joseph and Mary. The angels came to the shepherds to proclaim the birth of God’s Son. Their song is echoed in this verse, “And peace to men on earth.”

If you take the time to see it, you can see the work of God in nature. At this time of year, it may be the morning frost on the grass on your front lawn. Or, maybe the light glistening off the freshly fallen snow. Or, even an unseasonal warm day that reminds you that spring will return.

How have you seen God in nature recently?

What is you favorite way to experience the presence of God?
