Romans 1:9 God know how often I pray for you. Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heart.
Ephesians 1:16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly.
James 5:16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
Many verses in the Bible encourage us to pray for each other. This month you will have an opportunity to sign up for a prayer partner. During these difficult times most of us feel a need for prayer. It is such a blessing to have a prayer partner that you can share concerns and praises with. Through the years with different prayer partners it has helped me to become better acquainted with different people in our church. I know their prayers for me have made a difference. There are no rigid requirements other than praying regularly. Of course, the more you interact, the more you will get to know each other better and learn what concerns they have. You will be a blessing to them, and they will be a blessing to you. I hope you will seriously consider signing up for a prayer partner. PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS
by Joy Grady - Source - The Voice of the Martyrs
This month we are praying for the Christians in Kuwait. Kuwaitis have amassed significant wealth due to their national oil reserves. As a result few find it necessary to work. They generally outsource most of their work to foreigners in the country. A portion of these foreigners have a heart to reach Kuwaitis with the gospel, despite the risk to their jobs and residency status. Developing meaningful relationships with Kuwaitis can be difficult for expatriate workers, but they continue to labor diligently. A small number of Kuwaiti believers live in the country, though most came to faith outside the country. Several who had converted to Christianity in Kuwait faced brutal persecution and were forced to flee the country.
Nearly all Kuwaitis are Muslim. Foreigners have brought the gospel to the country, but churches are allowed only on compounds reserved for foreigners. Christian converts from Islam are opposed by the government and their own families.
Please pray for the believers in Kuwait. Pray for their protection and their stedfast faith in Christ. Pray that their faith will be strong and they will be able to resist returning back to Islam in order to escape persecution.
