"You shall be my witnesses...to the uttermost parts of the earth." Acts 1:8
Sharon Will's Faith Journey
Sharon Wills is originally from Dayton, Indiana, where her family attended the Memorial Presbyterian Church. She had a traditional upbringing and participated in Sunday school classes, youth group and attended church camp in Rochester at the Geneva Center. While attending Ball State, she earned a B.S. degree in human resource management. She remained in Muncie and is employed at Ontario Systems in their finance department, where she has contributed her talents for 28 years. Her husband Jim also works there.
One day a co-worker named Laura Ayers invited her to visit Yorktown Methodist Church, and Sharon was welcomed by Dr. Donald Charles Lacy. The minister who followed him was Steve Loft, who is originally also from Sharon's home town.
Through the years Sharon has served in various capacities at church: working with the trustees under Harold Fauquher's leadership, helping with Bible school, and taking minutes for the administrative board. She currently serves as chair of the Worship Team and greets us every week in the capacity of usher.
Sharon's current spiritual goal, in her words, is this: "Jesus calls us to love our neighbor, which is harder now in the era of the Covid-19 virus. We can still check up on people, send cards, and see each other on Zoom (I play games with my grandson). We can love our neighbor, and it will be great to celebrate the day when this time has passed!"
